Throughout his career, rapper Kiari Cephus, better known by his stage name, Offset has had ups and downs. From controversies to a daughter, and two very impactful music albums, Offset’s net worth sets to an estimated $3 million.
The Trio: Migos
The family hip-hop trio, Migos, has an estimated net worth of $12 million. Their two most recent albums have been found to be extremely popular and even hitting #1 on the US Billboard Hot 200. In both collections, many of the songs went viral such as “Bad and Boujee” as well as “Stir Fry” and “Walk It Talk It.” Both albums were incredibly successful and brought two BET Awards as well as one YouTube Music Award to the group. The two albums, Culture and Culture II, came after their first album, Juug Season.
Migos commonly collaborates with other artists. Some of these artists include Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris, Fall Out Boy, and more. Often the trio will separate to be featured in songs individually.
Each member of Migos is a direct relative of the other. Quavo and Offset are cousins, while Takeoff’s uncle is Quavo. The three rappers are from Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Cardi B and Kulture Kiari
Offset and fellow rapper Cardi B married in September of 2017. Since then, many rumors flew around about Offset cheating. She’s thrown his name around in her songs and hints at the rumors within the lyrics. Many questioned why Cardi B didn’t break up with him after finding the allegations may have been right. However, their relationship was a trendy topic, especially since they married in private, with no one expecting it. Their first date was at the Superbowl, and they admitted they were happy together.
As of late 2017, fans of both Cardi and Offset have been anticipating the birth of their daughter. With alerts and updates throughout social during the pregnancy, Kulture Kiari was a topic many couldn’t wait for. Cardi mentioned on social media that the name they chose was unique and “Anything else woulda been basic,” as said on her Instagram.
Past Controversies and Legal Trouble
A rather substantial controversy surrounding the rapper was in one of his songs lyrics from the song “Boss Life” with YFN on the Lucci Track. Featured in the song, Offset raps the lyric “I cannot vibe with the queers,” and for obvious reasons, he received a lot of hate for it. He addressed the hate by explaining how he didn’t quite understand the negative connotation within the lyric. He admitted that he assumed “queer” meant weird or abnormal and had no idea it had anything to do relating to the LGBT+ community. His wife Cardi B also helped to explain the real meaning behind the lyric, and both of them apologized for upsetting his audience and YFN’s audience.
In the early parts fo his music career, Offset has gotten himself into some legal mishaps. First, in 2013, then in 2015, and later again in 2016. He’s been arrested for drug and firearm possession, sharing the punishment with Migos and a selection of friends. On his own, however, he was arrested for committing a crime while on probation. That crime was driving with a suspended license.
With two incredibly popular hip-hop albums, one newborn daughter, and years of success ahead of him, Offset, along with his wife and co-rappers, have gathered a vast fortune in their careers. While Offset has had many legal issues in his past, his success and power in hip-hop can only bring him and his finances higher and higher.
